Between what we came with and what we rolled over as we played, we probably wagered a couple thousand dollars or more, and were not overly impressed - free games were nearly non-existent, and when you got free games, the payouts were minimal. The manager she spoke with had no idea these machines were not working. My wife's favorite games (Quick Hits with 5 reels - not video) only had 2 of 12 working during our visit. We played $2 and $2.50 max bet games, with not much luck. New Buffalo has quite of few of these (granted they have a larger facility, but 6 out of a reported 1,800 games in South Bend is an extremely small percentage). We only found 6 of these games on the floor - there may have been more, but we didn't find them. Usually we gravitate toward 1¢ denomination games with a max bet of $1.50.

Most folks know you don't get the displayed jackpot payouts with anything less than the max bet, so it seemed like far too much (and the fact nearly no one was playing them should be sending a very clear message). There were very few quarter denomination games, and many of those had $5 max bets. This may be because a vast majority had max bets of $9. There were far too many $1 denomination games, a large portion of which were not being played. The decor is like New Buffalo, and being new, of course its decent. As for the casino floor, overall we weren't impressed. We enjoyed the lunch buffet today (kudos to Aubry, our server).
